While the Government restrictions may have gone, Covid-19 remains and at Readybus we’re just as vigilant now as we always have been.

The safety and happiness of our passengers is our top priority, and that’s the same whether the journey is a short school trip or a European excursion. That’s why every one of our coaches has been fitted with PEPA-F antiviral filtration systems, the latest technology in onboard antivirus protection. Developed and made in the UK specifically in response to the Coronavirus outbreak, these powerful filters work with the existing air purifying systems onboard our coaches to capture and kill the virus on contact.

How does it work?

The PEPA-F (or Pathogen Eliminating Particulate Air Filter, to use its full name), is a very clever piece of kit that ensures the health and safety of our passengers and Readybus staff wherever we go.

Firstly, the onboard aircon system draws the air within the coach inwards, and pulls it through the PEPA-F filter. There, the air passes through a series of specially laminated foam filters. The first filter layer grabs onto the carrier of the virus (which could be a water droplet, a speck of dust, or the fine spray of an aerosol) and stops it in its tracks. The virus is then killed by a layer of the filter that is coated with a special silver technology formula, which destroys the virus on contact. This means it can’t go any further, leaving only clean and Covid-free air to pass back into the coach.

Tests have shown that the PEPA-F filters are 99.99% effective against Covid-19, and that they don’t affect the performance of our onboard aircon systems, meaning that every Readybus coach journey is as safe and comfortable as ever.

Passenger health and safety is our number one priority

The PEPA-F antiviral filters are just one part of the bigger picture when it comes to everything that Readybus is doing to keep our passengers and staff safe. Our Covid-secure coach travel operations ensure high levels of hygiene and safety for every trip, and they include the following:

  • Increased cleaning of all our vehicles, including a daily deep clean of the driver area and objects and surfaces throughout the coach that are touched regularly

  • All vehicles undergo a fogging sanitisation procedure at the beginning and the end of each day. The fogging machine ensures disinfectant is more comprehensively delivered across the whole vehicle, ensuring higher efficiency of disinfection

  • All employees are temperature checked before the start of every shift

  • All employees will be encouraged to wash their hands regularly during their shift for 20 seconds with soap and water and dry them properly

  • Hand sanitiser is available in all of our vehicles

  • Face coverings are no longer mandatory, but If you wish to wear a face-covering then please do
