Safe travels

Safe travels with Readybus

Keeping everyone safe

The health and safety of our passengers and employees is our number one priority. We have therefore reviewed our 'business as usual' operations and we have made some changes following government guidelines and guidance from public health authorities to ensure high levels of hygiene and safety can be maintained for everyone travelling with us during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis and beyond.

Safety and hygiene

  • All employees carry out a lateral flow test twice per week

  • All employees will be temperature checked before the start of every shift

  • Employees shift start times will be staggered to minimise the number of people on site at any one time

  • All employees will be encouraged to wash their hands regularly during their shift for 20 seconds with soap and water and dry them properly

  • Where hand washing is not possible, sufficient hand sanitiser is available in all of our vehicles to enable passengers/drivers to clean their hands

How our vehicles have changed

  • We have limited the number of seats available onboard our vehicles to try and ensure social distancing is observed

  • We have eliminated face to face seating

  • We have blocked off seats that are in close proximity to our drivers

  • We have assigned drivers to specific vehicles

  • Where possible, to encourage ventilation the air conditioning on all of our vehicles will be in use at all times whilst in operation

  • On board toilet facilities are closed and out of use

Keeping our vehicles clean and sanitised

  • All employees will be encouraged to wash their hands for 20 seconds with soap and water and dry them properly before boarding any of our vehicles

  • All of our vehicles carry a kit of cleaning supplies to maintain our required standards, these kits include gloves, disposable aprons, disinfectant and antibacterial cleaning wipes

  • Increased cleaning of our vehicles will be carried out - this will include a daily deep clean of the drivers area and objects and surfaces that are touched regularly, such as buttons to open doors, door handles, hand rails, locker handles, armrests, headrests, seatbelts, tables, hard floors and vehicle keys

  • Adequate disposal of cleaning equipment will be available on board all of our vehicles

  • In addition to manual cleaning of our vehicles all of our vehicles will receive a fogging sanitisation at the beginning and the end of each day. By using a fogging machine disinfectant is more comprehensively delivered across the whole vehicle ensuring a higher efficiency of disinfection

  • At the end of each day all waste and belongings will be removed from all vehicles

Passenger requirements

  • If you have symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19) please do not travel

  • Where possible please try and keep a distance of 2 metres from other passengers and our drivers

  • Respect our drivers and other passengers space while boarding, travelling and alighting - do not congregate near entrances/exits while waiting

  • When boarding/alighting our vehicles please use the hand sanitiser provided to clean your hands

  • Please cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow when coughing or sneezing

  • Be careful not to touch your face

  • Be aware of the surfaces you touch

  • Please do not consume food and drink onboard our vehicles

  • If you can, wear a face covering (although evidence suggests that wearing a face covering does not protect you, it may protect others if you are infected but have not yet developed symptoms)*

  • Please treat our drivers with respect and follow any requests and onboard notices

  • If you are responsible for children while travelling onboard our vehicles, please help them follow the guidance

*From the 15 June 2020 face coverings are to become mandatory on public transport therefore passengers wishing to travel with Readybus from this date onwards must wear a face covering onboard our vehicles to help reduce the risk of transmission when social distancing is not always possible.
